A hiking adventure in the wilderness. Discover deep insights into the earth and landscape history of the Edersee and enjoy the views of the unique forest and lake landscape. The primeval forests are among the most extraordinary forests in Germany.
Passing old beech and oak trees with bizarre growth forms, along narrow paths you will experience a change between pure beech forests with oak-beech forests and block and ravine forests. Since 2011, the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, as one of the most valuable beech forests in Germany, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A circular hike with a varied route and unforgettable nature experiences. This hiking trail with a length of 7.5 km was awarded the "Dream Tour" quality trail by the German Hiking Association. Past the recreational pond complex in Bad-Zwesten along the moat circular trail to the Löwenstein ruins via the Panoramablick partial trail, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the distinctive low mountain landscape. As a short stopover, we recommend climbing the 26 m high former defensive tower in the castle ruins.
