The GreenTrails are a must-do for mountain bikers of all levels. You can easily familiarize yourself with your bike on the gentle beginner routes, while you can put your skills to the test on the more challenging trails. By 2028, a total of 200 kilometers of varied mountain bike trails are to be created in the North Hesse region. In addition, there are 200 kilometers of connecting paths that make it possible to discover the entire region on two wheels. The Diemelsee trail area opened this year and currently covers a total length of 52.11 km.

Experience the breathtaking descents, the rolling hills and the exciting curves that the GreenTrails offer. Whether alone, with friends or family - there is something for every mountain biker here. Certified Diemel Cycle Route

From Sauerland to the Weser

The cycle route, which has been awarded 5 stars by the ADFC, combines a varied landscape, peace and relaxation with active leisure activities, culture and history.

Follow the Diemel on the approximately 112 km long cycle path through the Diemel Valley, from its source in Willingen-Usseln to its mouth in Bad Karlshafen. The well-developed and easy-to-ride river cycle path through diverse landscapes from the heights of the Waldecker Upland to the Diemelsee Nature Park through gently rolling low mountain landscapes to the Weser.

Limitless cycling pleasure

The municipality of Diemelsee has extensively expanded its existing network of cycle paths in 2020, making the region in and around Diemelsee even more attractive for cyclists.

The approx. 150 km long new network of the Diemelsee Cycling Adventure Park now connects all neighboring regions and train stations to the holiday region and opens up a variety of options for cyclists with different cycling tours and stage lengths.

Pleasure cycling tour around the Diemelsee

Get to know the Diemelsee with all its facets on the varied lake circuit. This exciting and particularly family-friendly cycling tour is also suitable for children. The spectacular lake views along the entire route as well as the imposing dam itself - with impressive views of the balancing ponds and the lake - will inspire you. Highlights of the circular route are the natural section between the "Hohes Rad" campsite and the Diemelsee nature reserve.

PanoRadelTour Diemelsee

The new challenging cycle tour on the Diemelsee connects all the towns in the Diemelsee holiday region to the City-Country-Lake Tour and the 5-star-certified Diemel cycle path. On the challenging cycle tour with wonderful views, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the picturesque natural landscape on some challenging sections. Many leisure facilities and sights can be easily reached by bike on this tour.

City-country-lake tour

The Diemelsee holiday region and the Hanseatic city of Korbach are always worthwhile destinations for cyclists. This well-signposted tour leads through idyllic countryside and connects the district town directly with the Diemelsee. Korbach is a great day trip destination and you can continue on to the Edersee there with a city tour or even continue on to the Edersee.

Pleasure cycling tour to Willingen

Even though Willingen is in the mountainous Sauerland, that doesn't automatically mean that cyclists have to constantly ride uphill. The Willingen pleasure cycling tour W4 is particularly suitable for e-bikes, with a route length of 38 km, which leads through varied landscapes and to numerous sights. In the well-known holiday and World Cup resort of Willingen there are many leisure activities, shopping and refreshment options as well as peace and relaxation on the high heathland of the Ettelsberg or in the wonderful nature of the adventure region.
