The 30-kilometre-long Kuppenrhön tour takes you around the two northernmost elevations of the Rhön biosphere reserve, the Dreienberg and the Landecker. The tour is ideal for a day trip through the hilly landscape of the northern Rhön with marvellous panoramic views. Historical sights such as Germany's oldest lime tree in Schenklengsfeld, the fortified moated castle ruins in Friedewald or the Huguenot House in Gethsemane also provide variety along the route.

Views, insights, enjoyment - on the panoramic trail on the Dreienberg. On a circular tour around the Dreienberg, the most striking mountain in the Kuppenrhön, the trail leads through old beech forests and offers repeated views of the Kuppenrhön, the Werra valley, the Kalibergen and the Seulingswald. On the panoramic circular trail, 4 mountain huts, numerous benches and rest areas invite you to linger. The interesting limestone flora with numerous species of orchid, silver thistle, German and fringed gentian and many other lime-loving plants can also be seen from the path.

The cycle path runs from Bad Hersfeld (railway station) to Schenklengsfeld on the route of the former Bad Hersfeld district railway. As a combined cycle/footpath, it runs for approx. 32 km through the very scenic Solztal valley with its endearing nature. Where once the trains of the district railway between Werratal and Fuldatal transported passengers and goods, today cyclists, skaters and other exercise-seekers can be found on the paved railway embankment from Schenklengsfeld to Bad Hersfeld.

Relaxing breaks can be taken in the beer garden of the Weitz equestrian centre in Schenksolz or in the Schenklengsfeld restaurants.
