Since June 2011, Göbel's Hotel zum Löwen in Friedewald has enriched the offering of the Göbel Hotel Group, which has its headquarters in Willingen. The traditional hotel, which belongs to the Bad Hersfeld entrepreneur Heinrich Leist and is his family home, was taken over as a leasehold business in addition to the 5-star Göbel's Schlosshotel in the immediate vicinity.

In 1986, the tenant family Draeger took over the operation of the small hotel in Friedewald. Together with the owners, a great deal has been invested since the 1990s to expand the small but fine hotel and make it more attractive. After 25 years, however, the previous tenant Rosemarie Draegerretired from the management of the hotel in Friedewaldin 2011 for personal reasons.

The Göbel family, who also leased the hotel, have since continued to run the business under the old, traditional name. The hotel is ideal for small groups or conferences as well as celebrations and is very popular due to its proximity to Göbel's Schlosshotel.
