From the source of the Unstrut to Naumburg

• Length: 190 km - Stages: 6
• Ascent: 846 m - Descent: 1.1.31 m
• Difficulty: easy

Enjoy a particularly beautiful nature experience: The Unstrut Cycle Route accompanies the Unstrut along its approx. 190 km course from its source in Eichsfeld to its confluence with the Saale near Naumburg. You cycle through two German federal states along this cycle route. Various tourist attractions along the Unstrut, such as the free imperial and Hanseatic town of Mühlhausen, the spa and rose town of Bad Langensalza or the moated castle of Heldrungen, offer you a beautiful view.

TIP: The route can be divided into 6 stages and is also suitable for families or beginners.

No. 2: Hainich National Park - The Red Route

• Length: 23 km
• Ascent: 457 m
• Descent: 198 m
• Technique / fitness level: medium-difficult

This is where history meets nature. The route connects Mühlhausen, the town of gates and churches, with the Hainich National Park on a well-maintained cycle path. Both the level of difficulty and the journey time depend on the direction in which you cycle the route. While a moderate to steep climb characterises the route coming from the direction of Mühlhausen, the route descends again from the national park in the direction of Mühlhausen.

TIP: The route is connected to the Unstrut cycle path from Mühlhausen - ideal for further tours.

No. 3: Unstrut-Werra cycle route

between Mühlhausen and Treffurt

• Length: 32 km
• Elevation gain: just under 427 m
• Technique / fitness level: easy-medium
• Tour suggestion

A tour via Oberdorla - the geographical centre of Germany. The 32 km long cycle route connects the Unstrut and Werra rivers, starting in Mühlhausen. Be fascinated by the unspoilt nature with its rich flora and fauna. Thematically designed paths lead you through this natural paradise. Plan a stopover and climb to the top of the primeval forest on the treetop path. The cycle path is suitable for families, nature lovers and touring cyclists.
