New adventure trails on the Ettelsberg

- Nature and adventure for families and vacation guests -

There is now even more to discover on the Ettelsberg: Three new themed and adventure trails invite young adventurers, hikers and walkers to enjoy unforgettable experiences in the great outdoors. The “Linnes Schatz”, “Rikes Raupenweg” and “s'Ründchen” circular trails start directly at the Hochheideturm, one of the most popular excursion destinations in Willingen - perfect for families and guests of all ages looking for nature, fun and relaxation.

Linne's treasure - the interactive adventure trail for children and families

With “Linne's Treasure”, the Ettelsberg offers an attraction that is unique in Germany. The interactive adventure trail is aimed at children aged 6 to 12 and their families. With the help of a free app, young explorers accompany Linne, an adventurous boy, on his exciting treasure hunt through nature. They encounter various obstacles along the three-kilometer trail, including the cheeky raven Horstje. But the badger helps Linne and his gang with valuable tips, such as how to make linen fabric from flax.

The adventure ends with a great surprise: a small treasure awaits at the end as a memento of the experience. The interactive trail costs an extra €2.00 per child and offers an unforgettable combination of nature experience, education and fun for the whole family.

Rike's caterpillar trail - an animal adventure for the little ones

For the youngest explorers (2-6 years), “Rike's Caterpillar Trail” has been created, a lovingly designed circular trail that leads around the mountain lake. On this trail, children accompany Rike, the curious caterpillar, as she makes her way to the Ettelsberg. Her story is told in a playful and child-friendly way on oversized picture book pages, while the little ones follow her journey with excitement.

Although the trail is mainly aimed at children, adults will also enjoy this charming experience. Parents can enjoy the beautiful nature around the mountain lake while the little ones discover the trail.

s'Ründchen - relaxation and views for connoisseurs

The “s'Ründchen” circular trail invites leisurely walkers and nature lovers in particular to enjoy a relaxing stroll. The path is short but varied: Picnic benches and massage trees invite you to take a break, while the nature cinema with comfortable wooden loungers offers a fantastic view of the Upland mountains.

A special highlight at the end of the trail is the largest chair in the Sauerland, which has established itself as a popular photo point. Whether for family photos or a selfie, this chair is a must for every visitor.

Family-friendly attractions at the Hochheideturm

In recent years, the Ettelsberg has been continuously expanded to offer families with children in particular a varied excursion destination. The large adventure playground at the Hochheideturm, which can be used free of charge, has already been extended. The combination of playground, observation tower and the new adventure trails makes the Ettelsberg an ideal excursion destination for families.
