On Sunday, August 25, 2024, numerous alphorns will once again produce the special wake-up call from the Willingen mountains in the early morning hours. This sound will announce the alphorn mass on the Ettelsberg.

The two parishes in Willingen, together with the hut owner Siggi von der Heide, invite you to an ecumenical mountain service on the last Sunday in August. This takes place on the 838 m high Ettelsberg and is very popular. Various alphorn players, music groups, singers and bands will provide the musical accompaniment for the mass. When the familiar melodies of hymns ring out from a thousand throats and the view sweeps over the magnificent mountain landscape, you feel close to heaven.

It is a good idea to combine a visit to the alphorn mass with a pleasant hike or to take the Ettelsberg cable car up the mountain.

The solemn mountain prayer and the unique atmosphere are a highlight for all visitors, regardless of age or youth.
